  • Application Security, Ethics, & Eight-Year-Old, by Matt Wilgus - ISSA member, Raleigh Chapter. The author details lessons learned when a child discovers a simple bug in an educational application. What initially was going to be a one-night technical lesson in application security turned into a four-week journey covering topics that go beyond what is offered to most students and highlights invaluable lessons to instill in the next generation of IT security professionals.
  • The Quest for Visibility and Control in the Cloud, by Yuri Diogenes - ISSA Senior Member, Fort Worth Chapter. Although cloud security has evolved over the years and is becoming more mature, the endless journey to obtain the right level of visibility and control over cloud workloads is still a challenge. This article will cover important considerations regarding cloud security visibility and control.
  • Countering Gender Disparity: Creating Anti-Predictions Using Data Science, by Lori L. Cole - ISSA member, Blue Ridge Chapter. Gender disparity is a complex phenomenon that can be observed today in organizational climates, processes, and practices. This article will examine the state of gender disparity in the cybersecurity sector and nominate anti-predictions (actions to challenge standing predictions) to change its future state.

  • Lost Cryptographics Keys - Lessons from Gerald Cotton, by Steve Kirby - ISSA member, Greater Spokane Chapter. The death of the sole individual holding a company's cryptographic keys resulted in the loss of over $140M in assets. This paper discusses cryptocurrencies, the risks inherent in them due to the use of keys, and steps that should be taken or considered to address those risks.
