• Measuring Security Effectiveness: A Critical Requirement for Cybersecurity Leaders, by Matt Hartley - ISSA Senior Member, Northern Virginia Chapter. Security leaders continuously look for ways to improve and evolve their security strategy. One real challenge they face is a lack of approaches for measuring the efficacy of their security program. This can be overcome with an emerging technology frequently categorized as breach and attack simulation, although when examined more broadly is better characterized as security validation.

• An Overview of Voice Authentication, by Nima Zahadat - ISSA member, Northern Virginia Chapter. A recent trend in secure authentication has been using voice as the biometric of choice. In this brief perspective, voice authentication will be reviewed, its features and strengths presented, and its vulnerabilities discussed. Recommendations will also be presented on possible ways of making voice authentication more secure.

• Improving Cybersecurity Processes, by Mark Abrams - ISSA member, New England Chapter. Productivity improvement in a cybersecurity operation does not only have to happen through the acquisition of new technology. This article discusses the approach needed to improve processes in complex environments such as security operations centers.

• The Python Programming Language: Relational Databases, by Constantinos Doskas - ISSA Senior Member, Northern Virginia Chapter.This article continues our discussion on database programming by exploring methods of analyzing data that is loaded in database tables.
